Wild and full of nature. Popular with walkers as its a handy loop walk from where you park. During the summer it's a popular 'vanlife' destination and a great starting point for your walk to explore some of Fenit Island. Very popular with the Fenit dog walkers so you're travelling with a pup they'll fit right in. 

It's not really set up for organised or parking with any sort of plan, but it can take roadside parking and on very busy days you'll find cars parking on the hard sand to the back of the dunes, although beware the high tide and please respect (keep off!) the dunes. 

To the rear of Fenit Island tombolo lies the Naturaa 2000 site and designated Special Area of Conservation (SAC). This body of water is full of wild life , sea birds and is a destination for migrating Brent geese. Recently meadows of sea grass have been discovered and recorded off the beach at Fenit Island and can be explored by paddle board or kayak.  

Conservation of the stretch of sand dunes along the Fenit Island beach is an important project among the Fenit and Barrow community. The tombolo provides protection to Barrow Harbour from the Atlantic Ocean. More information on this important project can be found here.  

Fenit island remains inhabited so please be respectful of private property if you plan a walk. The beach still serves as the only 'road' for vehicles to reach the island from the mainland which of course can be entirely submerged during a high tide. 

Parking is a bit of a lottery during busy periods. The beach is not blue flag. No services or shops between the beach and Fenit village.
